Now in pairs, each player has a compression band being held around their waists by a team-mate as they do stretches with it on.

The camera then pans to Gareth Southgate and Steve Holland. Southgate opts for no cap and shorts, Holland with a cap and long tracksuit bottoms, an interesting choice in what looks to be a hot lunchtime in Blankenhein.

Hardly a surprising nickname, as each player's name is read out before the group is split up into running groups for this warm-up.

There is one though - Kyle Walker is referred to as "Walks".

Not quite up there for originality. I mean it's no One Size - my personal favourite footballing nickname, which was given to former Crystal Palace, Wigan and QPR defender Fitz Hall.

Goalkeeper Tom Heaton, who joined the squad as a training player, just smashed a ball into the top corner past Jordan Pickford.

As the shot flew into the top corner Harry Kane shouted "finish Heats". The England captain appreciates a good strike.

The outfield players were led out on to the pitch by captain Harry Kane.

With all 26 players at his disposal, manager Gareth Southgate will welcome having a full squad of players to choose from this deep into the Euros.

Ahead of the Switzerland game we picked up that there may be some tactical tweaks because of the way the session was set up.

Today, there aren’t any clues and assistant manager Steve Holland is shielding his folder so there can’t be a picture taken of it.

Gareth Southgate hasn’t made many changes this tournament but you can feel there’s a big game around the corner today.

A member of England's backroom team was working on tightening the net that the goalkeepers are working in front of.

As one shot beat Aaron Ramsdale, it caught the staff member off guard and he jokingly flinched as the shot rippled the net.

All 26 of the England players will be out for training. That means Gareth Southgate has a full squad to pick from.

Luke Shaw said yesterday he is fit to start and Marc Guehi returns from suspension.

Time for Bellingham to replace Kane as England's focal point of attack, allowing us to get Palmer into the side. Kane as a sub in extra time or if England go behind would be very interesting...

As has become the routine over the last few weeks, the England goalkeepers are out 15 minutes earlier than the rest of the squad.

It is always striking just how much they talk to each other and how much thought goes into each movement before making a save.

BBC Wales Sport understands Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, Georgia boss Willy Sagnol and surprise contender Oxford United boss Des Buckingham were all spoken to about the post, but Craig Bellamy was the Football Association of Wales (FAW's) first choice as their new head coach.

Bellamy narrowly missed out to Ryan Giggs for the job in 2018 and is said to have impressed during discussions.

The 44-year-old former Norwich and Newcastle forward will now get the chance to lead the side in qualification for the 2026 World Cup.

Craig Bellamy, 44, takes up the role as Wales boss having left Burnley, where he had been acting head coach before Scott Parker’s appointment last week.

Parker was keen to work with the Welshman, but Burnley chairman Alan Pace said Bellamy leaves with the blessings of everyone at the club.

“I want to thank Craig for all his hard work during his time at Burnley and wish him the best for his new position as Wales manager," said Pace.

“Craig has been a very important part of our wonderful journey the last two years. I’ve admired his leadership, knowledge and passion.

“I am certain that he will continue to find success in his new role, and I wish him the very best of luck.”

  17. How it ended under Pagepublished at 11:07 9 July

    11:07 9 July

    Wales

Wales parted company with Robert Page last month, just a few months after Wales had failed to qualify for Euro 2024.

Under Page, Wales did get to the knockout rounds of Euro 2020 and qualified for the 2022 World Cup, their first appearance at the tournament since 1958, although they failed to advance out of the groups.

Wales' final two friendlies under Page last month were a 0-0 draw under Gibraltar and a 4-0 defeat to Slovakia.
