Amazing!!!! Looking to relax and enjoy family time it’s a great place
This lake has a lot to offer. There are fish to be caught from many species. From gills, perch, bass, walleye, and pike are a few of the common species that are often targeted. If you can time it right in the fall you can fish for salmon as they start their journey from Lake Mi to the mighty Mo as the locals refer to as Muskegon River. This offers the fishermen with a smaller boat to battle a salmon on the end of the rod. Along with fishing, Muskegon lake can be a great lake to take the sailboat out and “catch a breeze”. With it’s location so close to Lake Mi. there is usually a good breeze to tame your skills on a sailboat.Beware of the shallow area with rocks in the center of the lake towards the west end of the lake. This could be easier to run into if you are boating at night and not familiar with this location. With the size of the lake there is usually plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the water. Even the room for the Lake Express to slide on through as well. If you are just boating through to head out to lake Mi. or spending the day on the lake, there is plenty to do for everyone here.
Make sure to do your research when looking for public swimming. Other than that, enjoy one of the prettiest places in Michigan!
