Read this paper that highlights its operational relevance.👉 https://lnkd.in/grUTsqRJThis paper presents how the Australian Federal Police (AFP) Forensics Command has reflected on the Sydney Declaration by relating reforms developed and implemented to their operating model.Focusing on three selected principles of the Sydney Declaration, the authors show the operational relevance of the Sydney Declaration. They comment that operationalising the Sydney Declaration is not beyond the scope of forensic agencies whatever their scale and operating model. Great webinar hosted by . I'm debating on what path to pursue for my PhD and this series will definitely help me with narrowing down. Having a background in forensics and health care I didn't even think of how they work in sync. Looking forward to the next part of the series!

I have officially been published! This past Friday was the symposium for Crime and Ethos, Carleton’s first criminology undergraduate journal. Along with my publication, I was also recognized with the “Originality and Contribution to Respective Fields” award. My paper focuses on the apparent dichotomy between cocaine and Ritalin. I argue that these two drugs are merely the same, however are viewed differently due to the “good versus bad drug” debate that is outlined throughout pharmacologicalism. I analyze my arguments through a pharmacological lens, and rely on rat studies, brain interactions, and Ritalin misuse to highlight the similarities between the two drugs. Many congratulations!... to my students Ms Mary Sravani and other co-authors for the publication. In this method, we demonstrated an efficient C-H functionalization with concomitant annulation of cis-stilbene acids using 2-diazo-1,3-diketones employing Rh(III)-catalyst and studied the mechanistic aspects of the catalyzed reaction by ESI-MS, including the fluorescence properties of α-pyrone frameworks.https://lnkd.in/gQu3TaYz

Maybe you don’t understand the term ‘traces’ or maybe you don’t regularly describe the limitations of forensic results given time asymmetry and uncertainty. I think every forensic scientist should read the Sydney Declaration. The group go a little further with Locard’s exchange maxim than I would like (are we really sure that every contact leaves a trace, like 100%?, because nothing is 100% in science), but there are some very valuable things discussed in this document that are very important for all forensic practitioners to read. #forensicscience#forensicdna
