    Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate:
    - Five years of experience as an Airfield Management Shift Lead or equivalent desired.
    - One year experience as an Airfield Management Training Manager or Airfield Management Operations Manager desired.

    Mission/Purpose:
    Serve as the Airfield Management Training Manager, providing oversight of the training program which includes the development, implementation, supplemental, and overall oversight of the Airfield Management training program in accordance with AFI 13-204V3, AFI 36-2201, AFI 36-401, AFMAN 36-2234 and AFMAN 36-2247.

    Major Duties:
    - Develop, implement, and manage an Airfield Management training program to qualify personnel for position certification, skill-level advancement and ensure proficiency in support of peacetime flying operations/wartime readiness.
    - Develops a training instruction to establish policy and procedure for implementing the training program.
    - Instruction must define responsibility of personnel involved in upgrade, qualification, recurring and proficiency training.
    - Establishes a Newcomer’s Indoctrination Program for apprentice and skilled personnel.
    - Develops a standardized checklist or form for supervisors to conduct initial evaluations.
    - Ensures initial evaluation/interview of newly assigned personnel are conducted to determine knowledge and skills.
    - Ensures trainers use Air Force developed Position Certification Guides (PCG) to conduct qualification/upgrade training.
    - Develops additional lessons and/or further expand/breakdown PCG lessons to meet local mission requirements to ensure 100% task coverage.
    - Develops and administers practical and written proficiency tests at least quarterly to maintain a high standard of proficiency.
    - Develops and maintains a master training record.
    - Ensures a training record is maintained on all assigned personnel. Inspects training records monthly for accuracy, completeness, and standardization.
    - Identify and forecast formal and supplemental training requirements.
    - Coordinate scheduling through appropriate channels (e.g., AOF/CC, AM, Civilian Personnel, etc.).
    - Ensures completion of required formal course(s), CDC and PCG training for assigned position(s).
    - Determines requirement and coordinates the scheduling of training for professional development and recurring training, such as airfield pavement conditions, airfield waiver process, hazardous cargo/live armament, budget and facility board process, use of pyrotechnics in support of the Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH) program, airfield snow and ice control, aircraft arresting system configuration and Higher Headquarter and Major Command Computer Based Training modules.
    - Ensures trainers and task certifiers are appointed in writing based on qualifications and experience.
    - Represents Airfield Management with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
    - Establishes, develops, and maintains an effective working relationship with Air Traffic Control (ATC) facilities and other officials to facilitate a training program.
    - Participates in the Airfield Operations Flight (AOF) Training Review Board.
    - Briefs required agenda items, such as status of personnel in upgrade/qualification training, automated training programs, monthly training record reviews etc. according to AFI 13-204.
    - Attends unit OJT meetings to stay current on training policies, procedures, and changes.
    - As required, acts as the Airfield Manager, and represents Airfield Management at meetings, such as the semi-annual BASH and Facility Board meetings, quarterly Airfield Operations Board and Foreign Object Debris meetings.
    - Introduces driver's training requirements during pre-construction meetings and oversee during on-going airfield construction.
    - Aids in the development and implementation of a base-wide Airfield Drivers Familiarization Program.
    - Serves as Airfield Management’s AOF Web administrator, coordination with ATC administrator and base LAN manager will determine best use of the AOF Web.
    - Furnishes pilots with a full range of services pertinent to pre-flight planning.
    - Reviews flight plans for accuracy and completeness, ensures accurate and timely input of flight plans into the National Airspace System (NAS).
    - Provides pilots detailed information critical to flight safety products and information for safe aircraft movement.
    - Information includes availability of alternate airports and facilities, status and limitation of navigational aids, special use airspace activity, range and training route activities, air traffic system restrictions and procedures, communications requirements, airfield conditions, hazards, restrictions, and aircraft/personnel clearance requirements for international flights.
    - Conducts pilot briefings, as needed, for an array of pre-flight and airfield services.
    - Reviews flight plans with pilot for completeness and for compliance with Department of Defense (DOD), Air Force, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and International Civil Aeronautical Organization (ICAO) rules and directives, makes changes as required.
    - Accurately inputs flight plans into the NAS. Provides enroute and post-flight information for all inbound aircraft; determines when aircraft are overdue, and initiates search and rescue.

    Qualifications/Requirements:
    - U.S. Citizenship
    - Obtain & maintain Security clearance.
    - This is a designated Drug Testing Position.
    - Have completed Airfield Management 7 level or ability to obtain the 7 level within one year.
    - Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical.
    - Knowledge of DoD, Air Force, Federal Aviation Administration, International Civil Aviation Organization rules, and other applicable laws, regulations, instructions, and directives, as they pertain to airfield management, airfield criteria, air traffic control, and aircraft operations.
    - Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
    - Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources, and to mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
    - Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
    - Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options concerning airfield operations and maintenance.
