Current research interests include (i) physician practice patterns and decision-making, (ii) the effects of heterogeneous
state policy- and rule-making activities—especially in Medicaid—on health care outcomes, (iii) clinical and
organizational drivers of outcomes among patients with end-stage renal disease, (iv) geographic variation in medical
care quality, expenditures, and decision-making, and (v) the measurement of quality and value in health care.
